What is Tattoo Salve?
Tattoo Salve is an aftercare product that speeds up and aids the healing process. It is specifically designed for use on tattoos. Non-irritating to the skin, Tattoo Salve reduces itching and inflammation, it kills bacteria and prevents infection. Tattoo Salve ointment is 100% natural and organic. Tested by Artists. Distributed since 1993.
What is Tattoo Salve made from?
- Fresh from the ground organic herbs: all grown and harvested on our farm
in Victoria, BC:
Calendula officinalis, Plantago lanceolata, Stellaria media, Symphytum officinalis, Salvia officinalis. - Cold pressed extra virgin Olive oil.
- Babe's local bee's wax. We go strait to Babe's Bee farm to get it fresh.
- There is nothing else in the ointment! It is 100% natural.
What does Tattoo Salve NOT contain?
- NO Vitamin A or D, because it is most likely synthetic or derived from an animal source.
- NO Tea tree oil, as it can be too harsh and drying for the skin.
- NO Wheat germ oil because it is known to be an unstable oil at room temperature and needs to be kept refrigerated, or preserved by chemical agents (as it will go rancid).
- NO Petroleum, Lanolin, Mineral Oil or any synthetic based carriers.
- NO artificial preservatives, artificial color, or fragrances.
- NOT tested on animals.
How do I use Tattoo Salve?
Do not over apply. Tattoo Salve absorbs into the skin, healing deeper than synthetic products that lay on the surface, preventing your skin from breathing. Gently wash your tattoo once a day with Earth's Herbal Tattoo and Piercing Soap to remove ointment buildup. Use only enough Salve to keep your tattoo from getting too dry. Over application will not harm the tattoo, however small pimples around the tattoo area can sometimes be caused by over application (if this occurs simply wash your tattoo and begin applying Tattoo Salve less often). Follow guidelines set out by your Tattoo Artist.
What about allergies?
Tattoo Salve is hypoallergenic, formulated especially for sensitive skin types. It does not contain any petroleum and/or synthetic based chemical ingredients that people are commonly allergic to. All ingredients are labeled on our products. If an individual does have a reaction, discontinue use.
Can I share my Tattoo Salve?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! To prevent cross contamination, NO aftercare products should ever be shared. We recommend washing your hands thoroughly with our Tattoo and Piercing Soap before application.
Will Tattoo Salve pull ink out of my skin?
Tattoo Salve will NOT pull ink out of the skin. In fact many of the artists who have been using Earths Herbal Tattoo Salve (since 1993) have noticed the long term benefits of our Tattoo Products, and that they have actually encouraged brighter colors! Medicinal ingredients in Tattoo Salve help to stop bleeding and build new skin cells quickly, thereby helping to prevent ink loss during the healing process.
What should artists know about Tattoo Salve?
Many artists use Tattoo Salve instead of Vaseline during the tattooing process
(for example, Sacred Heart in Vancouver). They have found that it works better
than Vaseline, and due its anti-bacterial properties, helps reduce inflamation
and bleeding for the client. Tattoo Salve has been created by a Certified
Phytotherapist who has worked with numerous tattoo artists as well as dermatologists,
chemists and
physicians to provide this amazing tattoo-care product exclusively for tattoo
shops.
Large jars of Tattoo Salve are available at a reasonable price - please inquire.
What should clients know about Tattoo Salve?
- Tattoo Salve kills bacterial and moisturizes
- The ointment is made with all organic natural ingredients as listed on the label.
- There is no need to over apply (1-2 times daily, small amounts)
- Suitable for sensitive skin types
- A superior product to Polysporin, Lubriderm or Vaseline
Why sell Tattoo Salve in your shop?
Tattoo aftercare for your client:
Most people do not know what to do with a new tattoo unless instructed by
their artist. If the tattoo shop supplies the aftercare product then it is
easier to show your client exactly how to care for their new tattoo.
Earths Herbal Products feels that it is important that the artists
know as much about our products as possible. Knowing that each artist recommends
a different aftercare procedure, we rely on the artist to let their client
know about Tattoo Salve. We have found that the best way for the artist to
become informed about Tattoo Salve is to give out samples with informative
literature to read and share with their clients. We will answer any questions
you have - please feel free to request samples for the artists.
Tattoos will heal faster with the use of Tattoo Salve and the client can come
back sooner for more art work. A tattoo that heals properly will probably
need little or no touch ups.
Make money selling Tattoo Salve:
Dont send your customers to a big corporate drug store when you can
accommodate them with this CANADIAN made natural product right in the shop.
The client will probably purchase Tattoo Salve when they see it, especially
if it is recommended by your artists. Many tattoo shops add the price of the
ointment to the tattoo and just give a Tattoo Salve to the client.
We are constantly coming across people who are looking for Tattoo Salve and
we send them to shops that use our products. More and more people are wanting
to use natural tattoo care and they will be drawn to the shops that carry
it.
