Hi there everybody! Seems that Swans has decided to "change things up a bit". Consequently the Casey Ryder Trio will no longer be performing there on Sunday evenings. Of course I'm disappointed as I felt Damian, Leigh and I were playing some interesting, fun and unique music there. However, as you may know, often in the music biz the people who aren't the audience call the shots. I feel this is just such a case. We've had a great seven years, starting back in '99 as the Swingin' Bachelors and morphing into what the Casey Ryder Trio has now become..."Twangy roots music...& beyond!" I made every effort to "brainstorm" with the uppers to keep Sunday's at Swan's a vibrant, happening night, but didn't get much back from them. Sadly, I feel they were unable to realize our potential as part of Victoria's live music scene. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for lending us your open ears and adventurous hearts. I hope you enjoyed listening to our music as much as we enjoyed playing it for you. We will miss our Sundays very much. We will be performing one last show this holiday Sunday April 8, 2007 from 8:30-11:30. There will be guest appearances by the bands various alumni. Please come on down! C'est la vie. I'm happy to now be playing at Spinnakers on Tuesday evenings from 8:30 - 10:30 pm. See you there, Casey |
